Declare Independence from Back Pain (and a Little More)

As the fireworks crackle in the night sky and we gather with family, friends, and neighbors this 4th of July, we’re reminded of just how precious freedom really is. Not just the freedom to celebrate, to travel, to enjoy a good cookout, but the deeper freedoms that are easy to take for granted: safety, peace, and unity. This year, like many in recent memory, our country feels like it’s standing at a crossroads. Tension is high. Division runs deep. And whether you're watching the news or just navigating daily life, it's hard not to feel the weight of it all in your mind, in your heart, and yes, even in your body. That’s why, this Independence Day, we want to say something a little different:

Let’s not just celebrate America. Let’s pray for her. Pray for the continued safety of our communities. Pray for the healing of divisions. Pray for strength, unity, and the wisdom to lead with love, no matter what side of the fence we sit on.

A Bit of History Worth Mentioning: In the spirit of American-made greatness, did you know that chiropractic care was born right here in the U.S.? In 1895, a man named D.D. Palmer gave the very first chiropractic adjustment in Davenport, Iowa. His son, B.J. Palmer, later expanded the practice, eventually turning chiropractic into a global profession centered on one powerful idea: the body can heal itself when it's properly aligned. It’s a legacy rooted in American grit, innovation, resilience, and the pursuit of better health without dependence on pills or quick fixes. That’s something we’re proud to carry forward every time a patient walks through our doors.

What does this mean for you? While the country sorts out its battles, your body might be fighting its own. Whether it’s stress from the world weighing on you, strain from summer travel, or simply months of ignoring that nagging lower back pain, know this: you deserve to feel good. You deserve to move with ease. You deserve to show up in your life as your strongest, healthiest self. And we’re here to help with that. So if your summer festivities have left your spine feeling a little out of alignment, or if you just need a moment to breathe and reset, we’ll be here. Consider it your own little declaration of independence from pain, stress, and stiffness. Let’s start this month off grounded, grateful, and ready to heal together.

Happy Independence Day. May God bless you, your family, and this country we call home.
